· Shopping centres are hotspots for signal jamming. Check that the doors of your vehicle are locked before walking off.
· Criminals are known to follow people home from shopping centres and attack them in front of their homes. Always check your rear-view mirror to see if you are being followed. If you suspect that you are being followed, drive to your nearest police station or a safe public area.
· Hide your belongings, whether you’re driving or walking. Criminals will look for valuables to snatch from you. Put your phone in your pocket or out of sight and make use of a Bluetooth set for phone calls.
· When stopping behind a vehicle, leave half a vehicle length in front so you can escape in an emergency. (You should at least be able to see the back wheels of the car in front of you)
· Don’t be on your cellphone or wear earphones while you’re driving. Always be alert to your surroundings.
